TOM RIDGE WE NEED REGIME CHANGE IN IRAN

TOM RIDGE: WE NEED REGIME CHANGE IN IRAN

FreeIran, Iranian Opposition, Rajavi, RegimChange, Iran, MaryamRajavi, NCRI,

This is an interesting article which shows appeasement of the Iranian regime is not a solution to Iran’s nuclear program.

President Trump has been very clear about his strong commitment to combat the global scourge of terrorism and to combat those nations that support and enable it.
He has signaled his desire to build meaningful partnerships to achieve these goals and his focus in the Middle East is particularly relevant.
In his first speech to the United Nations General Assembly last month, the President unhesitatingly identified which players are our friends and which are our enemies in that unstable region.

How to Stop Iran in Its Post-Deal Destabilization Game

Hoabilization Gamew to Stop Iran in Its Post-Deal Dest

The solution presented by Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi ensures a non-nuclear Iran
Iran, jcpoa, FreeIran, Humanrights, Iranian Opposition, IRGC, MaryamRajavi, PMOI, Rajavi, MEK,

Every three months, there's a deadline for a U.S. “recertification” of the Iran nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). As that deadline approaches, discussions in the Beltway heat up as to what is the right approach toward a government which complies with the letter of the deal but not the “sprit," despite signing off on the contract with six world powers in 2015, which limits its bomb-making capabilities for at least 10 years.
If nothing has been learned from the behavior of mullahs in Tehran over the past 40 years, one thing is obvious; they succumb only when their back is against the wall. Case in point is the eight-year-old Iran-Iraq war, which left hundreds of thousands dead, and billions of dollars in losses just on Iran’s side. It ended when Supreme Leader Khomeini was convinced that the regime was only steps away from a crashing defeat and subsequent collapse.
Many Iran watchers in the West regrettably fail to notice the nature and structure of mullahs’ hierarchy, which is built on the foundation of Velayat-e faghih (Guardianship of Jurisprudence), and the absolute rule of the Supreme Leader - Ruhollah Khomeini in the 1970s and 1980s, and now Ali Khamenei. These two pillars of power simply mean ruling with an absolute iron fist at home and exporting its brand of Islamic ideology (terrorism and fundamentalism) abroad. There are no “moderates” or “hardliners” in Iran.
There are talks in the media even among the staunch supporters of the Obama administration on one hand and the White House’s inner circles on the other as how to continue putting a tight leash on Iran beyond 2026 or 2031 when the JCPOA expire

ISJ Publishes Report Detailing a 'Review of Iran's Nuclear Weapons-Related Conduct in the Last Two Years'

FreeIran, Iran, Iranian Opposition, IRGC, MaryamRajavi, NCRI, PMOI, Rajavi, MEK,

BRUSSELSSept. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Committee In Search of Justice (ISJ), a Brussels based NGO, has published a new research report titled "Review of Iran's Nuclear Weapons-Related Conduct: Two years after the implementation of JCPOA and IAEA report on Possible Military Dimensions of Iranian nuclear program."
Focusing on the past two years, the 24-page report drew upon publicly available information including the nuclear agreement (JCPOA), particularly its T-section, Tehran's position and replies in reference to "Final Assessment of IAEA on Past and Present Outstanding  Issues regarding Iran's Nuclear Program", evidence of Iran's illegal procurements for its nuclear weapon and  missiles programs, reports of its ballistic missile tests, and the April 2017 revelations by the opposition group,  the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (MEK) regarding a previously unknown location that might be involved in the nuclear weapons program.
In a previous report, on November 20, 2014, ISJ provided a thorough review of questions regarding the Iranian nuclear program and especially its possible military dimensions. (http://isjcommittee.com/2014/11/examining-10-warning-signs-iran-nuclear-weapons-development)
The new report contains discussion of the August  2016 execution of Shahram Amiri, the Iranian nuclear expert who had escaped to the US in 2009 but returned to Iran in 2010. The report reviews Amiri's background and his research credentials, then establishes that he was a source in confirming the military nature of the Iranian nuclear program. The report pointed out that this is why he was executed one year after the conclusion of JCPOA negotiations.
ISJ recommends the following steps for a credible verification to ensure that Tehran's nuclear weaponization program has been abandoned:
1. All organizations affiliated with the organ responsible for manufacturing a nuclear weapon must be thoroughly inspected by the IAEA, its experts made immediately available for unrestricted interviews, and the results made public.
2. In accordance with the spirit of the nuclear agreement and to ensure transparency on the part of Iran, immediate and unhindered access to military sites must be guaranteed.
3. Tehran must be prevented from continuing activities related to missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads, as such activities are in violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231.
ISJ (http://isjcommittee.com/) was registered in 2014 as a NGO including former officials and other dignitaries with an interest in promoting democracy and peace. Its President, Alejo Vidal-Quadras, a former professor of nuclear physics, was vice president of the European Parliament from 1999 to 2014.

Is Iran’s enhanced ballistic missile capability a calculated move

Is Iran’s enhanced ballistic missile capability a calculated move?

FreeIran, Iran, Iranian Opposition, IRGC, MaryamRajavi, NCRI, PMOI, Rajavi, MEK,

The ruling regime in Iran is the father of terrorism and the acquisition of nuclear warheads for the region and the world is very dangerous.

As the North Korea nuclear standoff and the future of Iran’s nuclear deal has absorbed an all-too enormous amount of international attention, a more important prism on Iran’s regional hostility must not go neglected.
During the United Nations General Assembly the controversial nuclear pact, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), took center stage once again. All the while Tehran has throughout the years overtly and covertly pursued a massive campaign hinging on meddling and extending its lethal ideology of Islamic fundamentalism across the Middle East.
The rendered atrocities can be witnessed across the region, especially in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon. This threatens the very fabric of the Middle East populace and bears the potential of plunging this flashpoint region into an abyss of proxy wars resulting in nothing but infernos of carnage.

Masoud Dalvand –TDO-(AMERICA) NCRI - A huge crowd of human rights activists, politicians, and people from the Iranian diaspora gathered outside the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Wednesday September 20, to protest Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s speech.
Amir Emadi, the spokesman for the Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) noted that Rouhani should not be accepted in New York, a city so dedicated to human rights, and certainly not at the UN.

shortly after revealing the new Khorramshahrmedium range ballistic missile to the public for the first time, Iran released a never before seen video showing a successful test of the weapon, but did not give a date or place for the footage. The new development will undoubtedly have an impact on whether U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration decide to scrap a deal with Iran over its controversial nuclear program, but it also underscores long-standing concerns that the Iranian authorities have been working with the North Koreans and other allies to skirt their international obligations.
Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), a military-political organization that commands immense influence on the country’s domestic and foreign policy, unveiled the Khorramshahr during a military parade on Sept. 22, 2017 as part of the country’s annual Sacred Defense Week. The events commemorate the country’s bloody war with Iraq between 1980 and 1988.

president Donald Trump has sensibly insisted that the Iran nuclear deal—formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action—has to be revised. The reaction in some quarters, mainly among many of the former Obama administration officials who negotiated this bad deal, has been horror. Unfortunately, the media have uncritically swallowed many of the false assumptions and naive arguments of the deal’s supporters, and the elite consensus is that the agreement must be preserved lest the White House bumble us into a crisis—or worse, another war in the Middle East.

An elaborate artistic street play, symbolizing the 11,000 protests across Iran over the past year, will be performed during the rally of thousands of Iranian-Americans outside the United Nations Headquarters in New York, on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
Simultaneous with the debate at the United Nations General Assembly, the protesters will condemn the presence of the Iranian regime’s president Hassan Rouhani in New York to address the UN. The Iranian Americans will highlight the abysmal state of human rights in Iran, calling for an end in executions in the country and to the impunity of Tehran’s leaders as well as calling for justice for the perpetrators of the 1988 massacre of political prisoners in Iran.

Regime change in Iran does not equal war in Iran

Regime change in Iran does not equal war in Iran

FreeIran, Iran, Iranian Opposition, IRGC, MaryamRajavi, NCRI, PMOI, Rajavi, MEK,
Amid the White House review of its Iran policy and subsequent to the signing into law of H.R. 6634, which imposes tough sanctions on the Iranian regime and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), familiar voices in Washington have begun fear mongering that supporting “regime change” leads to war.
Let us be clear: The real issue is not war. There has never been any suggestion of military intervention. Here are the real questions that need to be answered:

IRAN IS SENDING A DANGEROUS MESSAGE TO THE WORLD

IRAN IS SENDING A DANGEROUS MESSAGE TO THE WORLD

FreeIran, Iran, Iranian Opposition, IRGC, MaryamRajavi, NCRI, PMOI, Rajavi, MEK,
Iran should be prevented from Iran's nuclear activities as soon as possible, and Iran will create dangers for the countries of the region.

BY  Dr. Majid Rafizadeh
Iran has shifted policy from covertly advancing its military programs to publicly announcing progress on that front. This week, Iran’s state-owned newspapers praised its “remarkable” military advancements. Keyhan’s front page boasted about the country’s unveiling of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) base, saying it is a warning to “enemies.”Quoting air defense chief Farzad Esmaili, Press TV reported that “Iran’s UAV
program has expanded in recent years with more than a dozen models,” with “functions ranging from surveillance to intelligence gathering, carrying bombs and Kamikaze operations.”
Tehran also unveiled a new surface-to-air missile, Talash-3, and two radar systems. This despite UN Security Council resolution 2231, which endorsed the nuclear deal, calling on Iran not to “undertake any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using such ballistic missile technology.”
Tehran is sending a message that if any Western nation, regional power or non-state actor stands in the way of its revolutionary principles and foreign policy objectives, there will be serious military repercussions.
This is not the language of diplomacy and dialogue that the government claims to champion. It is the language of hard power, which Tehran is familiar with and heavily relies on. This language leads to further regional destabilization, insecurity and tensions.
The government is appeasing the hardcore base of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). By showing off the country’s military power, Tehran is also trying to foment nationalist sentiment, specifically sections of society that are disaffected and disenchanted with the government.
Furthermore, by exploiting and exaggerating the notion that Iran has enemies, the ruling establishment is justifying its military budget increase. Recently, despite high unemployment and poverty, Parliament overwhelmingly voted in favor of increasing the military budget by more than $500 million.
The bill focuses on spending in two particular categories: Advancing ballistic missile capabilities, and investing in other programs that play a role in conducting foreign operations. One of the major organizations involved in such operations is the Quds Force, the elite branch of the IRGC, which is led by Qasem Soleimani.
The tactical shift occurred after the nuclear deal was reached. From Tehran’s perspective, the West has lost any significant leverage because the four rounds of UN economic sanctions have been lifted. Every round required years of hard work, negotiations, and the consent of the Security Council’s five permanent members. As such, Tehran is confident that reinstating sanctions would be almost impossible.
Indeed, it would be extremely difficult for the US to get the approval of Russia, China, or even the UK and France, to pass a new round of international sanctions. With that in mind, Tehran has shown its true face. From its perspective, the geopolitical landscapes of the region and the world are changing in its favor.
Russia, Turkey and Qatar are leaning further toward Iran. Moscow has intensified its intervention in Syria. Regional conflicts have helped Tehran create proxies and Shiite militias in several Arab countries. Europe appears more focused on striking business deals with Iran than on its militaristic policies and human rights violations. All these factors have empowered and emboldened Tehran.

AFTER HER ELECTION AS PMOI/MEK SECRETARY GENERAL, ZAHRA MERRIKHI PLEDGES TO BRING FREEDOM TO IRAN

FreeIran, Iran, Iranian Opposition, IRGC, MaryamRajavi, NCRI, PMOI, Rajavi, MEK,
We offer our best congratulations on this auspicious election

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, PMOI, (the Mujahedin-e Khalq, MEK) held its annual Congress simultaneously in Tirana and five other countries. On the PMOI’s 52nd anniversary, the Congress elected Ms. Zahra Merrikhi as its new Secretary General. Iran is bulldozing the mass grave from the mullahs' 1988 massacre

Iran is bulldozing the mass grave from the mullahs' 1988 massacre

FreeIran, Iran, Iranian Opposition, IRGC, MaryamRajavi, NCRI, PMOI, Rajavi, MEK,

We should not allow the mullahs to remove the effects of crimes committed in Iran

Since its foundation, by Ayatollah Rouhollah Khomeini, the regime of Iran has succeeded in maintaining its absolute power through the massive use of torture and executions of its citizens. They are now trying to cover up their crimes.

The ugly reality is that thousands of Iranians were sent to the gallows and torture chambers for absurd and preposterous charges of “enmity against God” or “spying for external powers.” In the 1980s, thousands of educated youth of Iran, who had been sympathetic to the opposition groups, were executed by the mullahs. In summer of 1988 alone, based on the decree of Khomeini, 30,000 political prisoners, most of whom were members or supporters of the Mujahedin (PMOI or MeK), were executed.
Four decades of savage suppression by the mullahs has frustrated Iran's people who now look for any opportunity to show their abhorrence for the government. Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, President Hassan Rouhani and other Iranian officials are, more than ever, frightened of another mass uprising. According to the report from the National Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI), Amnesty International has launched a campaign on Monday calling on the authorities of the Iranian regime to “urgently stop the destruction of a mass grave in the southern city of Ahvaz.”
At least “a dozen political prisoners killed during a wave of mass extrajudicial executions in August and September 1988 are buried” in the mass grave.
Film footage obtained by Amnesty International “shows the site is gradually being buried beneath piles of construction waste” after a construction near the area began earlier this year.
“Bulldozing the mass grave at Ahvaz will destroy crucial forensic evidence that could be used to bring those responsible for the 1988 mass extrajudicial executions to justice. It would also deprive families of victims of their rights to truth, justice and reparation, including the right to bury their loved ones in dignity. By joining Amnesty International’s campaign, people can help to press Iran’s authorities to stop the imminent destruction of the site,” said Philip Luther, Amnesty International’s Research and Advocacy Director for the Middle East and North Africa.
He added: “Instead of desecrating the mass grave with piles of rubbish and waste and further tormenting families, who face repression for their efforts to protect the memory of their loved ones, the authorities should be upholding their duty to preserve all Iran’s mass grave sites so that investigations can be carried out into the 1988 extrajudicial executions and other mass killings.”
Amnesty International is calling on people to join the campaign by promoting the hashtag #MassGraves88 on social media.
The Iranian regime executed more than 30,000 political prisoners, the overwhelming majority of whom were activists of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), upon a direct fatwa by Khomeini in July 1988.

The victims were buried in secret mass graves. The 1988 massacre was described as the worst crime in the history of the Islamic Republic by the late Hossein-Ali Montazeri, the heir apparent of Khomeini, the founder of the regime, at the time.
Many perpetuators of this crime currently hold high positions within the regime.
Hassan Rouhani, the president of the Iranian regime and many of his cabinet’s principal figures held positions of influence in the summer of 1988 and were well aware of the massacre. Some were prominent participants in it, and indeed Rouhani’s first-term Justice Minister, Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi, was one of four members of the Tehran death commission.
Last month Pour-Mohammadi was replaced by Alireza Avaie. He filled a similar role on the death commission in Khuzestan Province, the same province in which a mass grave is being destroyed.
A few days after the replacement, upon an order by Ali Khamenei, Pour-Mohammadi was appointed as an advisor to head of the Iranian regime’s judiciary Sadegh Larijani.

New MEK Secretary General Pledges Regime Change in IranNew MEK Secretary General Pledges Regime Change in Iran

New MEK Secretary General Pledges Regime Change in Iran

FreeIran, Iranian Opposition, IRGC, MaryamRajavi, NCRI, PMOI, Rajavi, Iran, MEK,

On Wednesday September 6, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, (PMOI/MEK) held its annual Congress. The Congress elected Ms. Zahra Merrikhi, 58, as its new Secretary General.
The MEK is the main opposition to the Iranian regime, and it has been brutally suppressed by the Iranian regime. Over 120,000 MEK members and supporters have been executed by the regime. 30,000 political prisoners, a majority of them members and supporters of the MEK, were massacred in the summer of 1988 alone. Iran kept a lid on the massacre for three decades.
In this year’s presidential election, a conservative cleric by the name of Ebrahim Raisi, one of the perpetrators of the massacre, was selected as a main candidate, resurfacing the 1988 massacre and forcing regime officials, one after another, to confess about the carnage and their fear of the MEK’s popular support.
Last July in an unprecedented interview, former Iranian intelligence minister Ali Fallahian revealed the mindset behind the 1988 mass execution. In his interview Fallahian explains whoever had any relationship with MEK was condemned to death.
“Imam [Khomeini] said you must execute those who are steadfast in their beliefs,” he said referring to the Iranian regime founder. “We couldn’t let them go and couldn’t keep them in jail. If we had kept them in jail, we would have had a bunch of people over our head telling us don’t keep them in jail. So a 3-man team of judges and ministers was assigned to oversee these cases, release those who were eligible and execute those that were not,” he continued.
